Dear Parents and Carers

As you will see, the format of the school newsletter is changing alongside the new website.  You will be able to read the newsletter on your smart phone, tablet and PC without having to scroll in and out.  As we get used to using the new format, we hope to make the newsletters more interesting and user friendly - please bear with us!

Headteacher & Deputy Headteacher Awards

Some children are sent to the Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher for a special award.

  • Macey has received a Headteacher's Award for excellent work in RE
  • Olivia E for writing an amazing poem called 'Lemon Cheesecake'
  • Ocean for a thrillingly imaginative piece of writing
  • Malika for excellent writing in English

    

It's Good to be Green but it's Great to be Gold!

Pupils who show exceptional behaviour for the majority of the week can be chosen to receive a gold letter.  Gold letters have been given to:

  • Marwa for being actively involved in all lessons
  • Priya C for being actively involved in all lessons
  • Andy S for being actively involved in all lessons
  • Tallulah for being actively involved in all lessons
  • Jayden H for completing work, following instructions and making right choices
  • Luke R for joining in with PE activities, having wonderful manners and always having a welcoming smile

Reading Volunteers - we need you!

Key Stage 1 would really appreciate support with hearing children read. If you have some free time and would be interested in coming into school to hear individual children read, please get in touch. Reading volunteers are needed on:

Wednesdays

Year 2 - 9.00-9.30

    Rags to Riches 4 Schools

    If you would like to donate any unwanted clothes for the Rags to Riches 4 Schools fundraising scheme, please bring them in bags on Monday 7th or Tuesday 8th October.

        

    Lost Property

    Lost property trolleys are put into the playground most days.  There are already lots of items - none of them have children's names inside.  Please label all your children's clothing, footwear and bags.

        

    Aldi Kit for Schools

    Uplands Manor is taking part in Aldi's Kit for Schools promotion this September, giving us a chance to win £20,000 to kick start a health legacy for our school.

    We are asking parents to pick up a Team GB sticker whenever they spend £30 in any Aldi store and bring the sticker into school so it can be added to our Kit for Schools poster.
